Financial Assistance

In light of the recent wildfires in Southern California, President Biden has issued a declaration that makes employees eligible for a federally declared disaster distribution from their retirement accounts. Through the use of a special relief provision, all employees can withdraw up to $22,000 from their TIAA retirement account. No early withdrawal penalty will be applied, even if you are under the age of 59½, and you have the option to spread the distribution over 3 years or less.

If you wish to take advantage of this provision, please reach out to TIAA at (800) 842-2252, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Evelin Mairen or Kelli Sarslow at TCCS for assistance.
