Keck Graduate Institute had an outstanding outpouring of generosity during its 4th annual Giving Day, garnering more than $50,000 through 68 gifts. The dollar amount exceeded the previous year's fundraising total by 15% and was the most raised in the four years of Giving Day.
The contributions received during the "Beaker Bees Give Back" campaign came from a dedicated group of supporters, including friends of KGI, faculty, staff, and students. Notably, faculty and staff displayed continued strong philanthropic engagement, directing their support towards initiatives aimed at benefiting students and enhancing the student experience.
"We appreciate the generous contributions from our community during this year's Giving Day," said President Mohamed Abousalem. "The funds raised underscore the collective commitment to KGI's mission and the success of our students."
As part of the festivities during the 48-hour Giving Day, the institution hosted an on-campus event that brought together students, staff and faculty. This event also served as an opportunity to showcase a number of student clubs and organizations.
Top Three Program Areas by Dollars Raised:
- Annual Fund - KGI General: $21,520
- Excellence in Professional Development: $10,175
- Food Pantry Fund: $5,700
While Giving Day provides a special annual opportunity for the KGI community to unite both on campus and online, our commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders in the applied life sciences extends throughout the year. Generous donors, dedicated board members, engaged alumni and friends, and vital corporate partners provide ongoing sponsorship and support that directly fuels the hands-on, experiential learning central to a KGI education.
