Yolanda T. Moses
Professor of Anthropology and former Associate Vice Chancellor, Diversity and Inclusion, University of California, Riverside
Yolanda Moses is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Riverside and former Associate Vice Chancellor, Diversity and Inclusion. She previously served as Chair of the Board of the American Association of Colleges and Universities, Past President of City University of New York/The City College, and President of the American Association for Higher Education.
Her faculty positions have included a senior visiting research appointment at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a position as Professor of Anthropology at the City University of New York Graduate University. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Australia in 2016-17.
Moses’s past research focused on social inequality, gender, and class disparities; more recently, she has focused on issues of diversity and change in universities and colleges in the United States and abroad. She has co-authored two books on racial, cultural, and biological differences, and is highly involved in a number of national and international higher-education initiatives.
Moses earned an Associate of Arts degree from San Bernardino Valley College and went on to receive a PhD in Anthropology from UC Riverside.
