Pathway Program

Master of Science in Physician Associate

The KGI Pathway Program is designed for pre-health students at KGI who wish to matriculate as candidates for the Master of Science in Physician Associate (MSPA) degree at Keck Graduate Institute.

Requirements

Prerequisites

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • A minimum cumulative and science GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) (all courses to date)
  • Completion or progress towards the following prerequisite courses:
    • Human Anatomy and Physiology with Lab (2 courses)
    • Microbiology
    • Medical Terminology
    • General or Inorganic Chemistry with Lab
    • Organic or Biochemistry
    • Statistics

Applicants are allowed to have up to two outstanding prerequisites (no more than 8 semester hours or 12 quarter hours total) at the time of application. However, all prerequisites must be satisfactorily completed by June 15 of the enrollment year for the MSPA.

Patient Care Experience

Demonstrated hands-on patient care experience and progress towards the minimum of 1,000 hours of direct patient care experience required upon MSPA application submission.

Letter of Reference

A letter of reference from your pre-health advisor or faculty member recommending you for the pathway program.
