Dan Chatham Joins KGI as New Dean of Admissions

Dan ChathamKeck Graduate Institute (KGI) today announced that Dan Chatham has joined KGI as the new dean of admissions and financial aid.

“We are delighted to have Dan join our team as we build our admissions effort,” said T. Gregory Dewey, PhD, KGI’s senior vice president for academic affairs, dean of faculty and Robert E. Finnigan professor. “He brings extensive experience in graduate, professional education and is a good fit with our mission and goals.”

Before joining KGI, Chatham was director of recruiting and admissions for UC San Diego’s (UCSD) School of International Relations and Pacific Studies. Prior to that, he spent four years in admissions for MBA and MS programs at the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University, where he received the Executive Director’s Award for Outstanding Commitment to Service.

Chatham said he was excited to join KGI and “to contribute to its continued growth.” He added, “As a professional school with unique focus on the business of biotech, the school is gaining prominence among potential students from both undergraduate institutions and industry. I look forward to working with KGI leadership and candidates alike.”

Chatham specializes in creating student-centered outreach and admissions programs as well as international student marketing and recruitment campaigns. While at UCSD, he revamped the student recruiting/marketing strategy which increased applications by 16%. Through additional changes to the school’s applicant interview process implemented by Chatham, the yield rate of admitted students rose by nearly 13%.

He has presented at industry conferences for both NAFSA: Association of International Educators and the National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals on integrating student recruitment fairs into a holistic outreach plan.
