Billy Tauzin

President and Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA)

Formerly Congressman from the 3rd Congressional District of Louisiana, having begun his public service career in the Louisiana State Legislature, serving in a variety of distinguished posts such as Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee and Chief Administration Floor Leader.

While in Congress, he held several leadership positions: chairmanship of a Merchant Marine Subcommittee, Deputy Majority Whip, Co-Chairman of the Mainstream Conservative Alliance, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Nicholls State University in 1964 and a Law Degree from Louisiana State University in 1967.
