Information about new alumni e-mail

Dear Alumni,

KGI is excited to announce a new email service for alumni that will accommodate current and future alumni needs. We look forward to launching the new program during the fall and expect this transition to be completed by the end of February. You will have five months to notify email contacts, change resumes and become familiar with the new system. During these five months your KGI email will automatically forward to your new address. The 2007 class has been on the new system since graduation and has had a very positive experience. We are confident that this represents a superior plan for the present and future needs of our alumni.

As of today, you can go to http://start.alumni.kgi.edu and sign into your new alumni.kgi.edu email account. The IT department will be moving all alumni to KGI branded Gmail accounts hosted by Google. Your new KGI email account at Google has @alumni.kgi.edu as the domain name. It has 2GB of storage space and many fun and useful features. For instance, your alumni.kgi.edu account password will never expire and you can forward your email to another email account on your own at any time. On the http://start.alumni.kgi.edu page click the "Sign in" link and enter your username and password.

The system will ask you to enter a new password. Once you are signed in, click the Gmail link to access your email account. Your new email address is @alumni.kgi.edu. Be sure to open the email message about the alumni directory. It contains a link to a Google spreadsheet that has contact information for all KGI alumni.

• As of today your alumni.kgi.edu account is ready at http://start.alumni.kgi.edu.
• Monday, September 10 - Your old KGI email account will have its password changed to . All of your existing KGI email will be forwarded to your new alumni.kgi.edu account. Your old KGI account will not forward anywhere except to your alumni.kgi.edu account. Subsequent email messages will also be forwarded to your alumni.kgi.edu account. All of your email will be in both your old KGI account and your new alumni.kgi.edu account. You can continue to use your old KGI email account until Feb. 29, 2008.
• February 29, 2008 - Your old KGI email account will expire. Email sent to your old KGI email account after February 29 will bounce back to the sender as undeliverable.
• Be sure to notify your family members, friends and business associates about your email address change as soon as possible.
