January 19-23 2009: Our Second Annual Next Generation Bioscience Leaders

KGI and Smith announce that the second annual Next Generation Bioscience Leaders (NGBL) will be held in Claremont, California the 19-23 January 2009.  The registration deadline is December 17 2008.  To register, please email plester@smith.edu.

About NGBL
As biotech companies mature, they will need to develop and retain the best and brightest. Next Generation Bioscience Leaders is an excellent opportunity to advance high potential women leaders.

This first-of-its-kind forum provided high achieving female managers the opportunity to learn from and network with executives in pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies.

Designed to afford a comprehensive understanding of the biotechnology industry, the curriculum consisted of seminars, roundtable discussions, and breakout sessions led by top executives from the life science industry and esteemed faculty from KGI and Smith College.

  • The DNA of biotech organizations - business models, project management, regulatory affairs, product life cycle, and more
  • The factors of performance - finance, human assets, global resources, and regulatory
  • The brave new biotechnology leader - competition, lean six sigma, product portfolio management
  • Mapping your future - career imprinting, “glass ceiling” lessons learned, strategies for leading
  • Plus - small group discussions, networking lunches, thought-provoking dinner speakers
