Welcome to KGI

Welcome to the website of Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences. The students, faculty, and staff of KGI join me in encouraging you to explore our programs.

As you do, I hope you get a feeling for the extraordinary educational and professional atmosphere on our campus. KGI is the only American graduate school created exclusively for the education of leaders for the life sciences industry. And we offer the world’s onlyMaster of Bioscience (MBS).

Our unique MBS degree combines business and science in a hands-on, team-based, applied curriculum. We have five focus tracks that prepare KGI students with the skills and knowledge they need for bright careers in the life sciences:

The world’s best companies agree. Says Dennis Fenton, executive vice president of process development, operations, and quality at Amgen: “KGI takes the traditional science PhD program and turns it on its head. KGI prepares students for what they will face in the industry. In the real world, you have to have business, people skills and science to get a product to market.”

As you browse our offerings and our structure, you will see why the premier businesses in the life sciences industry are anxious to employ our MBS graduates, and why their leaders are eager to become members of our Advisory Council and Board of Trustees.

Visit the websites of our distinguished faculty to learn about their exciting teaching and research interests. Our faculty are at the forefront of those seeking to harness the power and potential of science and technology for the benefit of humanity. Their focus on applied science gives KGI’s campus its entrepreneurial energy and spirit.

After you have taken a virtual tour of our campus on this website, come visit us in Claremont. When you do, you will feel the value of the KGI approach and understand why 96 percent of our students are at work in the life sciences industry within six months of graduating.

KGI is an extraordinary place. Come be a part of this bold project to bring science and business together and help shape the world for the better.

I look forward to meeting you.
