Richard L. McConnell
Former President, Pioneer Hi-Bred International  Joined Pioneer Hi-Bred in Kansas in 1974. Initiated the company's corn research program in 1977 and served as Director of Corn Research in 1984. In 1990, McConnell was named the Director of Research for Pioneer's North American Crops, and became the company's President in September 2000. Dr. McConnell serves on the Board of Iowa State University Plant Sciences Institute, Iowa State University Foundation Board of Governors, Iowa Health Systems – Des Moines, the Agronomic Science Foundation, and The Nature Conservancy in Iowa.
