COST OF ATTENDANCE/Master of Bioscience programBilled Fees Tuition and fees for the 2008-09 academic year are billed at the following rates: Tuition: $37,900 Student Services Fee: $260 Student Activities Fee: $160 Total billed fees: $38,320 Other Estimated Costs The following estimates of off-campus living costs are provided to assist students with budgeting for a year of full-time study at KGI: Housing, food, transportation and personal expenses: $21,000 Books, supplies and a laptop computer: $1,000 Total other estimated costs: $22,000 Off-campus living costs will vary according to lifestyle requirements and personal choices. Housing costs are based on private home and apartment accommodations in the Claremont area. KGI students often choose to share local housing which can result in significant savings. Total Cost of Attendance The total cost of attendance for 2008-09 at KGI is the sum of total billed fees and total other estimated costs, or $60,320. PAYMENT PLANSKGI offers installment payment plans through FACTS Management Company to assist students in spreading the cost of their tuition and fees over a semester or an academic year. A FACTS informational flyer and agreement form are available below as PDF files. These documents explain the fees, enrollment deadlines and start dates for these plans. The plans require students to authorize FACTS to collect payment by automatic monthly charges either to a MasterCard, American Express card or Discover card, or to a checking or savings account at a bank in the United States. FACTS does not accept Visa cards. Students choosing a credit card option should call FACTS toll-free at 1-800-233-1096. FACTS will calculate the credit card convenience fee and complete the agreement form. Students choosing a bank account option should complete the agreement form and return the form and a cancelled check or deposit slip to the KGI address at the bottom of the agreement form. Please note that KGI cannot accept credit card payments directly for tuition and fees. 2007-2008 FACTS Flyer 2007-2008 FACTS Application STUDENT LOANSLow interest student loans with favorable repayment terms are available to both domestic and international KGI students to help offset expenses not covered by KGI scholarships or personal financial resources. Applications for these loan programs are accessed at the links in the following sections for either U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens or for international students. U.S. Citizens and Permanent Resident Aliens U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens are eligible to borrow student loans under the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Direct Loan Program. Three types of federal student loans are available to graduate students. Students applying for any of the three types of federal student loans need to complete an online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form each academic year by accessing the link below. If you have submitted an online FAFSA in a past year, you will need to use the same PIN that the FAFSA system assigned to you then. The maximum borrowing limit per academic year for the GATE loan program is $20,500.00.
