Kenneth J. Gruys

KJ Gruys

Dr. Ken Gruys is Site Director of the Calgene Campus of Monsanto in Davis, California. Previously, he was a Program/Research Director for Monsanto based in St. Louis. Dr. Gruys received his BA in Chemistry from Gustavus Adolphus College, his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Enzyme Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include metabolic engineering in plants, biological catalysis, and enzyme structure and function. Dr. Gruys has been recognized for his scientific accomplishments by being appointed a Monsanto Science Fellow, and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
