Student Services exists to support students academically, socially, and professionally by ensuring that campus wide co-curricular programming and services are designed to meet the psychosocial and cognitive aspects of the professional student experience. As a partner in the student's learning, Student Services strives to enhance and support the academic mission of KGI to foster independent thought and action.
Within this Student Services umbrella is Career Development. Career Development Services is committed to educating, engaging, and supporting students as they develop and pursue meaningful life goals. Students will be aided in cultivating lifelong professional development skills enabling them to successfully manage their occupational choices and life transitions allowing them to translate into practice the power and potential of becoming leaders in the life science industry.
These objectives are accomplished through:
- Creating an active community of learners
- Designing services specifically for professional students to become leaders
- Providing opportunities for students to interact and apply professional skill building tools
- Creating academic, corporate and student affairs partnerships
- Assessing students needs, satisfaction, and outcomes
Services Provided:
- Orientation for incoming students
- Counseling – Support and referral
- Student Handbook
- Support for student clubs and interest groups
- Student Health Insurance
- Mentorship Program
- “Dinner for Five” (alumni/student recurring dinners)
- Spring Pool Party
- Student Government leaders dinner at Dean’s house
- Graduation
